Speakers to focus on future of schools

The future of Indianapolis Public Schools will be discussed 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Georgian Room of the Indiana Memorial Union.

The main speakers at the event will be Indianapolis Public Schools Superintendent Eugene White and Founder and CEO of the Mind Trust David Harris.

They will speak about student achievement and school performance, accountability, takeover and private management of public schools, teacher shortages, teacher effectiveness and funding and school choice, according to a press release.

There will be a question and answer session. The event is open, and there is no cost to attend.
