The 2013 MLK Celebration Essay Contest is now open to all IU-Bloomington students.
The prompt reads as follows: “In 1958 while in Washington, D.C., the Reverend Dr. (Martin Luther) King said, ‘Make a career of humanity, and you will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country and a finer world to live in.’ This quotation appears on the MLK National Memorial in that same city. How do you plan to make a career of humanity?”
Both video and written essays can be submitted, with written essays ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 words and video essays between 30 and 120 seconds. First-place winners will receive an Apple iPad.
All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Nov. 26. For more information, visit indiana.edu/~mlkjr/essay.shtml.
