IU alum Vera Neuenswander and former IU volunteer assistant Cory Martin both missed making the U.S. Olympic Team on day four of the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.
In the women’s pole vault finals, Neuenswander could not clear the opening height of 4.25 meters, making her one of 12 pole vaulters to no-height amidst swirling winds at Hayward Field.
The women’s pole vault preliminaries were scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday but were canceled for unspecified reasons, pushing competition straight to Sunday’s finals.
Martin took sixth in the shot put with a throw of 20.70 meters.
