Two Bloomington women and a man were arrested for residential entry at about 6:49 p.m. May 11, according to Bloomington Police Sgt. Lucas Tate.
Taiveon Taylor, 18, Taylor Weiss, 19, and Morgan Curtis, 18, were arrested after police responded to a call in the 500 block of East Graham Drive.
Police responded after a Bloomington resident allegedly observed someone inside their neighbor’s house.
After observing people inside the home, and knowing the homeowner was away from Bloomington, the neighbor called the homeowner and confirmed that nobody had permission to be inside the residence.
The neighbor then called police and reported the illegal entry, citing a potential burglary.
When police arrived, they secured the residence, which had no signs of forced entry.
Tate said Weiss and Curtis were quickly detained inside the house, but Taylor fled the scene.
Tate said police officers chased Taylor from the scene to a sports complex on the north side of Bloomington High School South.
After being surrounded by officers, Taylor was taken into custody, Tate said.
He also said Taylor did not continue to resist arrest after being surrounded and was quickly detained.
Police then contacted the homeowner, Tate said, and did not identify anything missing.
Police were unable to determine why Taylor, Weiss and Morgan were inside the house, but Tate said they all smelled of alcohol.
Curtis and Weiss face charges of illegal consumption of alcohol and illegal residential entry.
Tate said Taylor was not charged with illegal residential entry because he met up with Curtis and Weiss later and was unaware that they did not have permission to enter the house. Taylor faces charges of resisting arrest and illegal consumption of alcohol.
