Bobby Ray strikes back!
The Atlanta-based rapper has continued to diversify his musical range despite cries from hip-hop heads beckoning for raw B.o.B. raps. How he pulls off so many sounds and makes us love it, nobody knows. His unique structuring of piano chords and guitar riffs help B.o.B. to keep pumping out the hits.
The release of Bobby’s sophomore LP is accompanied by a long list of guest features. For every pop-country Taylor Swift appearance, there’s a grimy verse from Nicki Minaj with her usual twisted outlook on life. With other artists such as Lil Wayne, Trey Songz and even an appearance from Morgan Freeman, this album has a lot to offer listeners who appreciate hip-hop blended with just about every other genre of music.
“Strange Clouds” successfully captures the inspirational and soulful vibe that has built B.o.B. a strong place in pop culture. Die-hard trap-rap fans might not be too drawn in, but overall, the music community should be happy with what B.o.B. delivered.
