Company receives 'F' from Better Business Bureau

The Northern Indiana Better Business Bureau has given a former Fort Wayne meat company staff a rating of “F.” Customers complained about Country Choice Aged Midwestern Beef’s “delivery issues,” “guarantee/warrantee issues” and “problems with product/service.”

The compnay is not BBB Accredited.

Recently, an Indianapolis woman complained that a salesman for Country Choice used “aggressive sales tactics” to enter her apartment. Upon entry, the salesman opened her freezer, threw away her food and claimed it had mold or freezer burn.

The company has failed to respond to this complaint.

Other complaints have concerned quality assurance and communications issues.

In March, a “Ripoff Report” user posting under the name Saphyr — a resident of Kokomo, Ind. — complained that Country Choice was a company of “Con-artists? Liars?...Maybe both.”

Saphyr reportedly purchased meat from a door-to-door salesman and called to complain about the quality of beef issued. However, the Indianapolis number provided had been disconnected.

Saphyr could never get in touch with Country Choice.

The company allegedly advertised in Grand Rapids Press that individuals could earn up to $1,000 per week selling beef cuts, chicken and seafood door-to-door. Employees were promised a base weekly pay, commission and bonuses. The only stipulation was that employees provide their own car and pay a “truck fee” for gas costs.

The wages have not been honored, according to the Better Business Bureau.

Three complaints have been filed against the company since April, and five complaints have been issued in the past three years.

Country Choice is currently soliciting in the Indianapolis area.

The BBB advises that individuals do not purchase Country Choice products.
