Woman allegedly strangles husband Friday night

Tina Frye, 41, called police at about 9:15 p.m. Friday to report that her husband had strangled her during an argument.

Upon further investigation police charged Frye rather than her husband with the assault, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Steve Kellams said.

Frye told police she and her husband had argued about the behavior of his 14-year-old son.

She told police her husband strangled her during the argument. However, her husband told police Frye had strangled him.

Police said they found visible injuries on Frye’s husband. He had red marks on his neck, supporting his claim.

The only visible injuries Frye had were scratches on her arms. These were possibly wounds inflicted while her husband defended himself, Kellams said.

The argument happened in the presence of a family friend and the friend’s 3-year-old son, Kellams said.

Frye will be charged with class D felony domestic battery in the presence of a minor and class D felony strangulation, Kellams said.
