Rapper Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege and producer Noah “Xaphoon Jones” Beresin — known as Chiddy Bang and made popular by their 2010 hit “Opposite of Adults” — serve up a peanut butter and swelly sandwich for all their fans to feast their grubby little ears on with “Breakfast.”
The alternative hip-hop duo from Philadelphia reiterates the stance that it refuses to grow up. With a continuing blend of psychedelic rock laced with hip-hop beats and lyrics from world-record holder Anamege, this album has much to offer.
Its first half displays a youthful, fun-loving side with playful tracks such as “Mind Your Manners” and “Ray Charles. ” Then, after all the fun and games, Chiddy takes listeners to a lyrical place we would normally expect Kid Cudi or Drake to appear.
“Breakfast” brings a sincerely unprecedented sound from this group. Beresin’s production capabilities push forth intrigue from the soulful, deep-thinking listener to the barhopping, overactive dancing menace everybody wishes would just sit down. If your realm of music reaches far and wide, this experience should be right up your alley.
