Construction near IMU results in traffic delays, disrupts campus shuttle schedule

Since Wednesday, Feb. 22, the Stadium Express bus, also known as the X-bus, has not been available for normally-scheduled pickups.

Pickups outside of the IMU shelter and the IU Auditorium bus stops were disrupted due to underground pipe construction.

Signs posted around campus indicated riders should board the Stadium Express Route at a temporary bus stop located at Woodlawn Avenue and Seventh Street.

The alternative bus route setup will continue until construction and repairs have been completed.

The underground pipe repairs taking place at the entrance of the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation parking lot has made way for an abundance of water to seep into the roadways.

In some cases, the conditions created mild flood conditions for motorists and
passersby.

Ron Derheimer, environmental manager of the IU Office of Environmental, Health and Safety Management, was not available for comment.
