IU sets new spring enrollment record

International enrollment also rises

IU-Bloomington, along with IU-East Richmond and IU-Kokomo, set new records this spring for enrollment.

The increase in Bloomington is small, a 0.1 percent increase from 2010 with 40,479 students now enrolled. International student enrollment is also up, increasing by 12.5 percent.

“These figures show that Indiana University has a strong appeal to students from across the state and around the nation and world,” IU President Michael McRobbie said in a press release. “It is especially gratifying to see strong growth of the East and Kokomo campuses as they find innovative ways to serve their regions. The data are essential to our efforts to ensure that students remain on track to earning their degrees in a timely manner.”

The seven IU campuses had a total enrollment of 101,980 in the fall. Enrollment across all campuses typically declines from fall to spring. The numbers, released today by the Office of University Institutional Research and Reporting, include undergraduate, graduate students and students enrolled in professional schools.
