Bloomington will end Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a “birthday celebration” at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater this evening.
The event will be at 7 p.m. at the theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave., and will follow a 5 p.m. reception at the First United Methodist Church, 219 E. Fourth St.
Lee Hamilton, former member of Congress and director of IU’s Center on Congress, will be the keynote speaker, and Mayor Mark Kruzan, Bloomington King Commission Chair William Vance and IU President Michael McRobbie are also expected to attend.
Both the celebration and the reception are free to the public.
