IU moves to 4-0 on season with 94-65 defeat of Savannah State

IU v SSU

In a game that saw 53 fouls called and 71 free throws shot, it was the Hoosiers who made the most of their opportunities at the line making 35-of-47 in route to a 94-65 victory Saturday night against Savannah State.

Freshman Cody Zeller was an efficient 5-of-6 on the evening with 21 points and was apart of a dominant frontcourt for the Hoosiers.

Backing up his 15-point performance on Wednesday against Evansville, junior Christian Watford also missed just one shot from the floor in scoring 21 points.

With Savannah State lacking the frontcourt size and depth of the Hoosiers, the ball was pounded inside all night. IU had 34 points in the paint to go along with its 35 made free throws.

The Hoosiers will play their final game before Thanksgiving on Monday when Gardner Webb (2-2) comes to Assembly Hall for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
