JON STEWART AT THE IU AUDITORIUM — The always funny and sometimes controversial Jon Stewart performed to sold out crowds Friday night. His two-show engagement included both political and personal comedy that was “even better than expected.”

MATTHEW ERICKSON MEMORIAL — Last week, Matthew Erickson’s Facebook page started to fill up with messages from friends describing their memories of the IU freshman, who died Wednesday. Erickson’s friends and family spoke with the IDS, painting a picture of a student who was always laughing with a witty sense of humor.

LOCAL VETERAN BATTLES WITH PTSD — After combatting insurgents in Iraq, a local veteran is still fighting stress disorder and alcoholism. Former soldier Anthony Ray Halliday describes his struggles with friends’ suicides and deaths and his run-ins with the law since he got back from Iraq, where he served as a military police officer.
