On Friday a 32-year-old woman was arrested for vandalism to the Kelley School of Business Graduate School building, IU Police Chief Keith Cash said.
Officers responded to a witness report about a female knocking over a computer at about 10:30 p.m.
“The witness then heard items being broken and discovered mirrors and a large plasma TV were damaged,” Cash said.
The suspect then entered the Psychology building, Cash said. Officers surrounded the Psychology building and arrested Jolita Faith Washington, Cash said in an email.
At the time of the arrest, Washington had a backpack with two containers filled with urine, Cash said.
Washington was jailed for a D-Felony Criminal Mischief. However, she could be charged with additional charges from earlier cases involving urine found on a stand-up printer in the business school and urine found on two computer keyboards in the Neal Marshall Black Culture Center.
A female student recently reported a battery case in which the suspect resembled Washington’s description, Cash said.
“We will follow up with additional charges if necessary,” he said. “We will also have the victim in the battery case try to identify her and add those charges as well.”
Washington would not cooperate and refused all questions when arrested. She caused about $5,500 worth of damage at the business school, Cash said.
It is also unknown why Washington, a resident of Indianapolis, was in Bloomington on Friday.
