Tyler Chernesky
IDS What would you ultimately like to do?
CHERNESKY Shucks, you know, my mom would like to know that, too. I
think I’d like to write books about religion. I have a few role models.
One is Randall Balmer who comments a lot on religion. So, something
like that.
IDS What are you involved in on campus?
CHERNESKY I wrote a column for the IDS ... I’m on the Student
Body Supreme Court, I was student director of Campus Crusade for Christ
for a good year and a half, I’m on the Patton Foundation committee —
helping bring in speakers and various advisory boards — and different
academic things like College of Arts and Sciences. A lot of boards. I’m
sick of boards.
IDS How did you wind up on the court?
CHERNESKY You know, it’s kind of weird, because you have to fill
out an application for yourself. I was told to do it by some student
leaders in the past. Christian Hines ... who was on it last year told me
to apply. I don’t know if that’s the case for everyone, but that seems
to be the process. It seems like there’s a great group of people this
year.
IDS Favorite spot on campus?
CHERNESKY I really like Beck Chapel, but I almost don’t want to
say it, ’cause I don’t want other people to go there. So, don’t go to
Beck Chapel — it’s my spot. But no, it’s quiet. A good place to think.
Oh, and the second floor restroom in Woodburn. There’s a stall in the
men’s bathroom that they call the alley because it’s like 11 feet long. I
frickin’ love the alley.

Sunjay Gorawara
IDS What are you involved in on campus?
Gorawara I’m in Beta Theta Pi and in the Investment Banking Workshop as co-president.
IDS Why did you want to be on Homecoming Court?
Gorawara I love Indiana. And it’s a good capstone to end my senior year.
IDS What are you looking forward to most about Homecoming?
Gorawara I’m looking forward to the game. I’m a Hoosier at heart.
IDS What made you want to come to IU as a freshman?
Gorawara The campus and culture really stood out to me. I’m also a Wells Scholar.
IDS What’s one of your favorite IU memories?
Gorawara Little 500. The spirit of IU is really represented not just in the race but in the stands, as well.
IDS What are your plans for after graduation?
Gorawara I’m starting a job in investment banking in New York in July.
IDS What’s your favorite spot on campus?
Gorawara I love Beta and the Arboretum. There’s nothing like walking through it on a nice day.

Justin Kingsolver
IDS What are you involved in on campus?
KINGSOLVER I am the IU Student Body President. I currently serve
as the student body’s representative on the Bloomington Faculty Council,
the Capital Priorities Committee, the Campus Recreational Sports
Committee and the IU Athletics Committee.
IDS Why do you want to be Homecoming King?
KINGSOLVER It’s not something I have ever really considered
doing, but IU has such a rich tradition of school spirit and I’d love
to play a bigger role in it.
IDS What are your plans after graduation?
KINGSOLVER I have two different career paths I am currently
debating. Either I will pursue a career in management and strategic
consulting, or I will attend law school.
IDS What has been your favorite memory at IU?
KINGSOLVER Watching 5,000 of my peers attend the Shine4Lauren
event last month, even despite pouring rain and chillingly cold weather,
was mind-blowing and awesome.
IDS If you could change anything about your time here at school, what would it be and why?
KINGSOLVER I only wish it could have been longer. And I wish I would have gotten involved in some activities earlier on in my time at IU.

Kendall Frazier
IDS What are you involved in on campus?
Frazier I’m president of the Student Athletic Board, a member of
Mortar Board, a National College Senior Honor Society and an intern at
Indiana Media Relations. I also occasionally volunteer at Habitat for
Humanity and coach youth soccer.
IDS What are some of your hobbies?
Frazier I love watching college sports. I also like to travel. Last summer, I went to Europe for the first time.
IDS Name something in your life that has greatly influenced you.
Frazier I have a condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia
that makes it easy for my body to go into shock. I’ve always tried to
not let it affect me too much.
IDS Is there something that not many people know about you?
Frazier In 2002, I was the youngest carrier of the Winter Olympic
Torch. I ran it half a mile through Indy, and my whole sixth grade
class came to watch.
IDS Why is IU so important to you?
Frazier It’s a family tradition. I have family who lives in
Bloomington, and my little brother is going to come to school here next
year.
IDS What’s your biggest goal in life?
Frazier To open my own dental practice and be a successful
businessman. I have applied to a few dental schools, and I’m waiting to
hear back.
