Rape reported on Jordan extension

The IU Police Department reported a rape that occurred between 2 and 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of North Jordan Avenue.

The offense reportedly occurred between North Fee Lane and the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house, although it is unclear where in the block it took place. It was reported at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday.

IU Police Chief Keith Cash said the victim was assaulted by an acquaintance. The female said it started as consensual but became non-consensual.

“According to the male it was consensual,” Cash said in an email.

He said the victim does not want any further action to be taken.
