Charlene Spierer makes "mother's plea" during briefing

From Charlene Spierer's statement (watch the video here):

"I, too, appreciate you guys being here, everybody in the media, thank you so much, because you're helping us keep this alive, and it's just so important.

I'm not comfortable with this, but I just want to say that as I travel throughout Bloomington, Lauren is with me everywhere. She's here. I go down Kirkwood, I see her, I hear our conversations. I step on the IU campus, I see her, I hear our conversations. She's everywhere here to me, she's everywhere, but she's nowhere. Somebody knows where she is. She's somewhere.

So, this is a mother's plea, this is my plea. If you know anything, if you see anything, if you hear anything… Somebody suggested all the merchants. When people are checking out, they're paying their bill, they're paying their tab, they're leaving a place, you have a tendency to talk to each other. Any, all the merchants: If you hear anything, you know, we keep saying, 'You might think it's insignificant; it's not insignificant. Everything is important.'

So, as a mom, Lauren is the light of our life, and our hearts are breaking, and this is just a continuous nightmare. So, everybody has something that's important to you, if you just dig deep and just say, 'If that important thing to you went missing and somebody had the information that could help you with that, could help you find that,' we're missing Lauren. Lauren's a person, and anything you could do, anything that anybody knows or could offer to help us out is extremely important, and please do so.

Thank you very much for coming."
