Teenager arrested for school shooting threat

A 16-year-old male was arrested in connection with a threatening message in a bathroom stall at Bloomington High School North.

The student admitted to writing on a bathroom stall wall that the next shooting would be May 10, said Bloomington Police Sgt. Jeff Canada.

Police became suspicious of the male when they saw part of the message on the wall on his Facebook page, BPD Lt. Bill Parker said.

“We don’t think the threat was real or that the student had intention of harming anyone,” Parker said. “We will continue to assist the school in any way possible.”

Canada said they interviewed the student and he admitted to writing the threat.

He said he did it because he was bored.
