Riders receive honors at Little 500 awards banquet

Participants of the Little 500 gathered in Alumni Hall on Monday for the annual Victory Banquet, where riders trade in their spandex and kits for dresses and slacks and celebrate their accomplishments of the past Little 500 season.

After dinner and dessert, those who received the scholarships made possible from the money raised by Little 500 were honored.

Members of the IU Student Foundation then took the stage to announce the names of the riders who won awards. The teams who placed first through 15th also received trophies.
Little 500 riders Eric Andersen and Katie Sauter then announced the winners of Little 500 Superlatives, which included categories such as “cutest track couple” and “most likely to keep shaving their legs” (a male-only award).

The event concluded with a farewell speech by Race Director, Pam Loebig, who ended her tenure as race director this year.
