BPD arrests man on preliminary robbery charges

A man was arrested after he robbed a man at a hotel at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Sir Nikolaas Quincy Nathaniel Nesbitt, 21, of Bloomington was arrested by Bloomington police on preliminary charges of armed robbery, said BPD Sgt. Jeff Canada.

Police say Nesbitt was part of a plan to set-up and rob a 75-year-old man at the Scottish Inn on S. Franklin Road.

The victim thought he was meeting a woman at the hotel. While the victim was in a room, two armed men broke in, stole money and destroyed his cell phone.

Police haven’t released the name of the woman yet because the case is still under investigation. They’re still trying to identify and locate the other suspect.
