Awards celebrate greek success

Each year the greek community comes together for the IU Greek Awards Ceremony, which honors individual sororities and fraternities from the four greek councils: Panhellenic Association, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Multi-Cultural Greek Council.

The awards are based on the five “Pillars of Excellence” that include value integration, brotherhood and sisterhood, civic engagement, intellectual development and academic support and leadership development.

Overall winners for the Award of Excellence:
Kappa Alpha Theta — PHA
Sigma Phi Epsilon — IFC
Sigma Lambda Upsilon — MCGC
Lambda Upsilon Lambda — MCGC

The awards for values integration were given to chapters that upheld the values of their organization.

Award of Excellence winners for values integration:

Lambda Chi Alpha — IFC

The awards for brotherhood and sisterhood were given to chapters that were distinguished by their respect for the dignity of others and that embraced the free exchange of ideas and beliefs.

The awards for civic engagement were given to the chapters that engaged in the most meaningful, comprehensive civic engagement and community
partnerships.

The awards of intellectual development and academic support were given to the chapters that developed and maintained a scholarship program for their members that will enhance their academic success and contribute to the academic mission of the University.

The awards for leadership development were given to the chapters that developed and promoted leadership opportunities for their members.
