Indiana residents can now access information about the state’s natural resources with the touch of a button.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources, along with IN.gov, released an iPhone application that contains information about 24 state parks and eight reservoirs. It also includes information about forests, historic sites and natural preserves.
“We live in an increasingly mobile society, and this is a continuation of DNR efforts to stay connected with customers, and for them to stay connected with us,” DNR Director of Communications Phil Bloom said.
This application, the first from an Indiana government agency, launched March 9 and has been popular so far, Bloom said.
“We have had positive feedback,” he said. “A number of people have already asked us if we are making the app available on Android and Blackberry. That is in our plan.”
The free application can be downloaded on iTunes.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ iPhone application features:
Links to camping or state park inn reservation sites
