Erdy leads squad into Border Olympics

This week: The Border Olympics on Friday and Saturday in Laredo, Texas, at Laredo Country Club.

Last week: Fourth-place finish in the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.

Look ahead: The No. 28-ranked IU squad, according to the latest Golfweek-Sagarin rankings, will compete in a 19-team field, including No. 18 Arkansas, No. 26 Oklahoma, No. 32 Liberty and No. 37 North Texas, according to the March 20 Golfweek rankings. Texas State, the 2010 tournament champion, will also be in the field after winning the previous year with a three-round total of 876.

Junior David Erdy, after tying for eighth in the NIT, will be playing No. 1 for the team during the three rounds of play.
