Fulbright student Undraa Enkhtaivan attended the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants Conference in Washington D.C., from Dec. 8 to 11.
Four hundred FLTAs attended the conference where they participated in workshops and panels.
Enkhtaivan was selected as one of six FLTAs to participate in a panel discussion with Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Ann Stock, she said.
“It was a great experience to make friends from all over the world and share teaching skills,” Enkhtaivan said. “It was a fun experience.”
Enkhtaivan, who has been at IU since August and will stay until May, has been teaching an introductory Mongolian class and assisting with other Mongolian classes. In addition, she takes two courses each semester.
After Enkhtaivan’s two semesters in the United States, she will return to the University
of the Humanities in Mongolia where she has been teaching English for the last seven years.
“It is a great experience for me to share my culture and teach my language,” she said. “I get to experience the great state, country and culture here.”
