Women’s basketball defeats Clemson, 65-51

Senior guard Jori Davis and sophomore forward Aulani Sinclair scored 17 and 15 points, respectively, to lead the IU women’s basketball team to a 65-51 win against Clemson on Thursday in Clemson, S.C.

The Hoosiers (4-3) pulled away late and led by as many as 16 points to benefit their conference in the 2010 ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

While Davis and Sinclair combined to shoot 50 percent from the field, stingy defense propelled IU.

The Hoosiers finished shooting 42.3 percent of their field goals compared to a 31 percent effort by the Tigers (5-2). IU held Clemson to just 26.9 percent shooting in the first half and allowed the Tigers just two points in the final 5:25 of play.
