A Bloomington man was arrested Wednesday for dealing heroin, Sgt. Jeff Canada of the Bloomington Police Department said.
Police believe he may be connected to a large-scale heroin operation that was broken up last Thursday in Indianapolis.
That bust came after a six-month investigation to determine where Bloomington’s heroin sellers were getting their supplies.
“We believe he is involved with them trafficking heroin from Indianapolis to Bloomington,” Canada said.
The suspect, David Wood, 38, first appeared on the police’s radar in the spring and became the subject of a drug investigation.
Officers conducted three controlled buys of oxycontin and heroin from Woods, with another in summer, Canada said.
On Wednesday, Detective Brandon Lopossa located the suspect and arrested him.
During an interview, Woods admitted to selling heroin and being addicted to the drug, Canada said.
Woods was charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a Class D felony.
