Construction traffic patterns to change starting today

The Indiana Department of Transportation announced the following traffic changes on the S.R. 45/46 bypass that began today.

Walnut Street and College Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction between roughly the Hampton Inn and McDonalds. However, dedicated left turn lanes will be maintained for both northbound and southbound at the SR 46 intersection.

Just west of Kinser Pike, the crossover will be put in place that will utilize the existing westbound lanes for a single eastbound and a single westbound lane. This will allow for bridge work at Cascade Road to begin. 

Traffic will continue to be shifted to the northernmost side of SR 46 up to the Dunn Street intersection. At this time, no traffic pattern changes are occurring east of Dunn Street. However, there will be left turn lanes maintained at both the Kinser Pike and Walnut/College intersections.

Lane restrictions currently in place west of Kinser Pike will be lifted.
