A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The accident occurred at the intersection of North Fishers Court and North Jordan Avenue outside Alpha Xi Delta.
IUPD Chief of Police Keith Cash said the female, who he believes to be a student, ran in front of a car that was driving eastbound.
The victim was taken to Bloomington Hospital with a leg injury and possible head injuries, Cash said.
The car, a black Chevy Cobalt with Illinois license plates, had a visible crack in the windshield. The driver of the car would not give his name.
A section of North Jordan Avenue was blocked by police following the incident, halting bus and vehicle traffic.
Five police officers responded to the incident and were interacting with the male driver.
Witnesses could not say if the victim or driver were members of nearby sororities or fraternities.
