A warrant has been issued for a Bloomington man accused of stabbing
another man approximately 14 times in the back, Bloomington Police Lt.
David Drake said.
Javier Rosas-Bolanos, 27, is suspected of attempted murder, a class A
felony, after allegedly attacking Ryan Nicholson, 23, in the 1600 block
of North Willis Drive early Saturday morning.
Rosas-Bolanos was asleep in his Arlington Valley Trailer Court home,
which he shares with his 21-year-old girlfriend and her three children,
when Nicholson arrived, Drake said.
Nicholson and the girlfriend, leaving the children in the living room, entered another bedroom and began having sex.
Rosas-Bolanos saw the two from the bedroom door and proceeded to
repeatedly stab Nicholson in the back. Nicholson was able to break free
and escape from the trailer.
Rosas-Bolanos chased after him, but Nicholson was able to make it to
another trailer before collapsing, Drake said. The girlfriend and her
children fled to a neighbor’s home, and the neighbor called the police.
Officers said they found Nicholson in the other trailer, incoherent and
lying in a pool of blood, but Rosas-Bolanos had already left the scene.
Nicholson was transported to Bloomington Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Drake described the suspect as being Hispanic and having black hair,
brown eyes and multiple tattoos, the most prominent of which include the
name “Isabel” on the left side of his neck, a skull on his right hand
and the phrase “Hecho en Mexico” on the back of his neck.
Anyone with information concerning this case is encouraged to call Detective Bill Jeffers at 812-339-4477.
