A new deal with AT&T will help campus visitors connect to the Web without having to create an IU Guest account or hike to the nearest Starbucks.
IU and AT&T have signed an agreement enabling AT&T users to access IU’s wireless connection without a University log in.
The University currently provides a secure wireless network for all IU staff, faculty, and students, but through this agreement IU’s Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses will provide Wi-Fi capabilities to campus visitors in any public areas, academic buildings, or other IU centers.
The service is free to AT&T customers with smart phone and Internet plans and available to users on other plans for $5.99 per day.
AT&T gained access to the campus through a competitive bidding process and has plans to offer the same service at IU’s other campuses soon.
