10 Years criticizes music industry

There seems to be a loose concept to “Feeding the Wolves.” The latest release from 10 Years features lyrics such as “they feed and they suck until you’re unconscious/ it’s never enough until they kill your subconscious” from the lead track “Shoot It Out,” which are blatant digs at the music industry.

At least half the songs feature some kind of shot at the music industry machine, which might sound heavy handed based on the band’s major label status. The songs “Now Is the Time (Ravenous)” and the aforementioned “Shoot It Out” feature their most extensive use of screaming vocals thus far, and they show off a newfound progressive side with “Fade Into (The Ocean).”

10 Years have always had better song writing chops than most of their mainstream rock peers, but many will likely scoff at an anti-industry message from a band that still plays radio friendly alt-metal. But there is always the chance that it just proves they’re smarter than we give them credit for.
