All four IU undergraduates who were nominated for Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships were accepted this year, which sets a new record for the University.
Juniors Jennifer Kulow, Carlo Angiuli and Christopher Faesi will be awarded one-year scholarships that cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and room and board for up to $7,500. Sophomore Erika Anderson was awarded that amount for two years.
“Having all four nominees selected as Goldwater Scholars is unprecedented for IU, and is a tribute to our students and to the faculty members who mentor them,” said College of Arts and Sciences Interim Dean David Zaret in a press release. “The Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious and competitive national award, and I congratulate all four students on their achievement.”
The scholarships are based on academic merit, according to the release.
