Man asks woman for cigarette, demands her money, steals her wallet

A 42-year-old woman was robbed Monday morning by a man who initially asked her for a cigarette.

As the woman opened her purse, the man, who was covering his face with a black hooded sweatshirt, demanded she give him her money. He reached into her purse and stole her wallet.

According to the Bloomington Police Department’s report, the incident occurred at 9:37 a.m. at a bus stop on the corner of South High Street and East Hillside Drive. The suspect was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and 250 pounds.
