Little 500 bikes are single-speed, coaster-brake racing bicycles with 28 mm tires. Within certain restrictions, modifications to the bike are allowed.
Senior Gray Goat Cycling rider Matt Kiel said his team adjusted the handlebars and stems to provide narrower distance between the hands and replaced the seats to provide better durability.
The team also replaced many of the parts with lighter materials.
Cost of adjustments: $1,000-$1,500 (made by the team’s main sponsor, Indianapolis bike shop Gray Goat Sports)
