Chief Justice Roberts to give IU Law School speech

INDIANAPOLIS — U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts is returning to his home state next month to give a lecture at the IU School of Law in Indianapolis.

The school announced Wednesday that Roberts will give James P. White Lecture on Legal Education on April 7.

He will be the third Supreme Court justice to speak at the event, following Sandra Day O’Connor in 2002 and Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2007.

Attendance at the lecture is by invitation only, although it will be shown on the law school’s Web site.

Roberts grew up in the northern Indiana town of Long Beach and became chief justice in 2005.
