What could be done that hasn’t already been done a million times in a superhero cartoon? How about teaming up with your worst enemy in order to battle your anti-selves from a parallel dimension?
“Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths” centers on the newly-formed Justice League as they are visited by Lex Luthor. This Luthor, however, is actually the leader and last survivor of the Justice League in a parallel dimension’s planet Earth. On his planet, the League is actually a mafia-style gang of super villains called the Crime Syndicate. These villains have powers exactly like the Justice League of our dimension. The proper League must stop the Crime Syndicate from completing a devastating plan that could destroy the entire universe.
This movie’s unique plot kept me entertained throughout. There are a few boring stretches and tons of action scenes. This leads to some interesting battles of self vs. anti-self, including Superman vs. Ultraman and Batman vs. Owlman. It truly feels fresh and fans of superheroes, regardless of age, will want to see this movie.
An amazing alternate universe
