Part-time IU student Michael Thomas Land, 23, was found dead in his residence Monday.
Bloomington Police Department officers responded to a call at 335 N. Hillsdale Dr. from Land’s roommates at 10:01 p.m., said Sgt. Steve Kellams.
Police were waiting for the results of an autopsy, which was completed Tuesday. As of Tuesday evening, Bloomington officers said they had no reason to believe the death was caused by foul play.
Dean of Students Pete Goldsmith said he learned about Land’s death Tuesday and had not been in contact with the family.
“It’s a tragedy,” Goldsmith said. “I’m sorry that it happened.”
Kellams said BPD would have been notified if something out of the ordinary caused Land’s death.
“We have not been called yet,” Kellams said Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Kellams said it could be as long as two weeks before autopsy results are available.
