Ind. man denied change of venue

COVINGTON, Ind. – A Fountain County judge has denied a change of venue request from a western Indiana man accused of videotaping himself having sex acts with children as young as two months old.

Fountain County Prosecutor Terry Martin said he received a denial of the request by the suspect, Stephen E. Quick II of Veedersburg, Ind., on Monday. Quick’s request for a new judge was also denied.

Martin said at the time of the venue change request that the motion was based on publicity surrounding the sentencing of Quick’s co-defendant, Samantha Light. Light was sentenced in December to 125 years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation charges.

Martin said Quick is scheduled to stand trial on March 30.

Defense attorney Steven McCombs declined to comment.
