Bloomington man trapped in car

Drunk-driving may have caused man to flip car in creek

On Sunday morning, 30-year-old Bloomington resident Ryan T. Rene was headed southbound in the 1600 block of Rogers St. when his car slid 100 feet and split a telephone pole in half, said Bloomington Police Department Lt. David Drake.

At 6:07 a.m., officers found Rene trapped inside his 2000 Infiniti, which landed upside down in a creek.

According to the report by Officer John Coleman, Rene was unresponsive. It took members of the Bloomington Fire Department one hour to remove Rene from his vehicle.
He was transported to Bloomington Hospital with possible head and leg injuries.
Officers smelled alcohol on Rene but were unable to utilize a Breathalyzer.

“A blood test was taken from the victim but the results could take anywhere from two to six months,” said Lt. David Drake of the Bloomington Police
Department.
