“Pick It Up!”
What A local campaign that encourages people to clean up the litter found in their neighborhoods.
How it works Register and pick up free, blue trash bags at the HAND Office in City Hall, located at 401 N. Morton, room 130. Pick up trash and put it in the blue bags.
Leave them outside on your regular trash pick-up day. If you are registered, the bags require a trash sticker.


Women’s History Month Luncheon
What “Writing Women Back into History,” the 25th annual women’s history month luncheon, sponsored by the Bloomington Commission on the Status of Women.

Gladys DeVane will perform a theatrical production titled “On Their Shoulders We Stand: A Salute to the Women who Paved the Way.”

When March 10, 2010, doors open at 11 a.m., program begins at 12:15 p.m.

Where Bloomington Convention Center located at 302 S. College Ave.

Cost $20, tickets may be purchased at City Hall, 401 N. Morton St., Suite 260


People’s University
What A “community-driven education resource” that offers classes for adults ages 18 and older. Course topics include arts and crafts, cooking, outdoor activities, home and garden, music and writing, language and literature. Classes are taught by various community members.

Cost Varies depending on topic, number of classes and materials used.
