Shipment of H1N1 Vaccine to arrive soon

In several days Monroe County will receive a shipment of H1N1 vaccines.

Health officials say that it will take an estimated six-to-eight weeks before enough vaccine has arrived to vaccinate the five target groups including pregnant women, parents or caregivers of infants under 6 months of age, children and young adults from 6 months to 24 years of age, individuals aged 25 to 64 years of age with underlying chronic conditions or who are immune compromised and health care providers and emergency medical services workers, according to a press release.

Once these groups receive their vaccine, the vaccine will be released to others.
