The 2009 Indiana University Homecoming Parade will take place Oct. 16
and is expected to create congestion and traffic delays near its route.
The parade starts on the corner of Rose Avenue and Third Street, goes down Third Street to Indiana Avenue and goes up Indiana to the Sample Gates. IU advises drivers to avoid streets on or near campus Friday afternoon or allow extra time to get through traffic.
At 3:30 p.m., the IU Police Department will station officers at major intersections to assist traffic. The parade will start at 5:30, rain or shine, but staging - and traffic problems - will begin two hours before.
