Men's tennis players perfect today

The IU men's tennis team won all four of its singles matches on Thursday at the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship.

Freshman Alex van Gils got the day started by earning his first collegiate victory against Jose Berado of Murray State. Van Gils won both of his singles qualifying matches, each by a score of 6-2, 6-3.

Sophomore Will Kendall and freshman Isade Juneau received byes in the first round before taking care of business against their semifinal opponents.

Van Gils, Kendall and Juneau will participate in the final singles qualifying round Friday morning with the winners advancing to the afternoon's main event. Doubles play also gets underway Friday with main draw competition beginning at 10:30 a.m.
