Season four of “30 Rock” doesn’t premiere until Oct. 15, so there’s still plenty of time to plan a premiere party complete with Slankets and Sabor de Soledad cheese curls.
Although a modern comedy isn’t going to lend itself to the fancy costuming of a period drama like “Mad Men,” “30 Rock” lovers can still have a lot of fun with their duds. It only takes a little bit of wit, felt and fabric glue for every party-goer to have one of Frank’s cleverly scripted trucker hats.
Slankets are a bit pricey, but $5 and a trip to Goodwill can yield a used blue blazer. Complete your NBC page look with an iconic peacock pin available for $7 online at the NBC-Universal store.
Liz’s Sabor de Soledad cheese curls are just as easy to mock up by designing your own label and slapping it on the front of a bag of Cheetos. Some teamster-approved sandwiches should also be on any “30 Rock” party menu. And if you run out of ideas for “30 Rock”-themed foods, just put up some pictures of food. Liz would approve of that.
You’ll also want to have a well-stocked bar a la the one in Jack’s office. But if you go too heavy on the wine don’t try to use any phones or treadmills.
Finally, make sure to get some good commercial-break karaoke going with “30 Rock” hits like “Muffin Top” and “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah.” In no time, you’ll be partying so hard Kenneth would be ashamed.
Warm up those Slankets and get ready to laugh
