IU announced it will postpone the annual State of the University Address until Oct. 12.
Originally scheduled for this Tuesday, the address will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 12 in Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union.
On Thursday, the University Faculty Council sent out an e-mail that said the postponement was out of respect for the death of former IU President Myles Brand and Mel Simon, who, along with his wife Bren, gave more than $70 million to IU.
The annual address takes place during a University Faculty Council meeting.
