INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and a private partner have honored affordable housing projects in Indianapolis and the eastern Indiana town of Fountain City.
The recent Statewide Conference on Affordable Housing and Community Economic Development gave its Governor’s Award for Rural Projects to the Fountain City Lions Club for creating a 12-unit senior housing complex for low-income seniors in the community.
The Governor’s Award for Urban Projects went to the Constitution Gardens housing complex in Indianapolis for a rehabilitation that brought in services including a police substation to help fight crime.
The state agency put on the conference with the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development.
