The City of Bloomington will have two public workshops to discuss 10th Street mobility Thursday.
The first is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Monroe County Public Library and the second is 5 to 7 p.m. in room CG2061 in IU’s Kelley School of Business.
“Analysis was performed on the north side of campus to see how bicycle, pedestrian, transit and vehicular circulation could be improved,” said Josh Desmond, assistant planning director for the City, in a press release. “We want the public to provide feedback before the study moves forward. The transportation concerns along this corridor are important to the community, and we want to make sure we get it right.”
Gorove/Slade Associates Inc. was hired in October 2008 to help with the study. IU is also partaking in the project.
According to the City of Bloomington’s Web site, www.bloomington.in.gov, the study area expands to the north side of 17th Street, 10th Street to south, Dunn Street to the west and the State Road 45/46 Bypass to the east.
One idea is to turn 10th Street into a one-way traffic street.
