Welcome Week kicks off with move-in day

Things INCOMING students should know
• Mandatory dorm floor meetings are tonight. Check with your RA for time and location.
• Required academic advising meetings are Thursday morning. See your residence hall center for your time.
• Academic orientation meetings are 3 p.m. Thursday. Check with your RA for the location of the school you’re interested in.

What you need to know ABOUT TRAFFIC

• More than 10,000 students will move into the dorms this week.
• 10th Street near Wright Quad, Ashton Center and Teter Quad usually has the worst traffic problems.
• IU’s buses will not have routes near residence halls.
• Parking will be regulated near Teter and Wright Quads for those moving in.

Recommended Routes

• For Wright Quad, Teter Quad and Ashton Center, use E. 10th Street.
• For McNutt Quad, Briscoe Quad and Foster Quad, use Fee Lane.
• For Read Center, Forest Quad, Willkie Quad and Eigenmann Hall, use 3rd Street.

FRESHMAN INDUCTION CEREMONY

MORE INFO The ceremony will mark the beginning of students’ IU experience. Families may attend.

CULTUREFEST
WHEN 4:30 p.m. Thursday
WHERE IU Auditorium
MORE INFO Celebrate a variety of cultures with music, food and henna tattoos. CultureFest starts in the Auditorium, where you get free food vouchers. The vouchers are valid at the 7th Street after the Auditorium event.

TASTE OF THE UNION

WHEN 5 to 8 p.m. Friday
WHERE Indiana Memorial Union
MORE INFO Students can enjoy free live music, karaoke, games and prizes. There will also be food options available throughout the IMU.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS

WHEN 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday
WHERE Walmart Supercenter, 3585 W. State Road 45
MORE INFO Shuttles will transport students from residence halls to Walmart for prizes and specials. Check your residence center for exact times and locations of shuttle stops.

LATE NIGHT AT THE SRSC

WHEN 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday
WHERE Student Recreational Sports Center
MORE INFO The event will include karaoke, free food and a cannonball contest.

FAITHFEST

WHEN 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday
WHERE Dunn Meadow
MORE INFO Religious groups will have information and activities for interested students. The event will also feature prizes and food.
