INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Pacers have added a trip to Assembly Hall in Bloomington to an already eventful preseason schedule.
Indiana will play San Antonio on Oct. 23 in IU's historic arena. The Pacers haven't played there since hosting an American Basketball Association playoff game in 1972.
Rick Fuson, Pacers Sports & Entertainment's Chief Operating Officer, says the decision to play there was made out of respect for IU's basketball tradition.
The Pacers will open their preseason Oct. 2 at home against Chicago. They will follow that with a game against Denver on Oct. 8 in Taipei, Taiwan. They'll play another game against Denver on Oct. 11 at Wukesong Arena in Beijing, where the Olympic basketball tournaments were played last year.
