Hill schedules town hall meetings

Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind.) speaks to students on Sunday at Teter Quad on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, Ind. Hill, a Blue Dog Democrat, is facing former Republican Rep. Mike Sodrel for the fourth time.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Indiana Congressman Baron Hill will hold two town hall-style public forums in southern Indiana next week to answer questions from constituents.

The Democrat’s office said Wednesday that the forums will be his first with town hall-style formats since the health care debate heated up in Congress.

Hill has met with smaller groups of business leaders, health industry officials and service club members. He also spoke this week with AARP members about health care through a conference call.

The first public forum will be 6:30 p.m. Monday at Indiana University Southeast’s Hoosier Room in New Albany. The second will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bloomington North High School.
